Pilot was the season
premier of Dark Angel on Fox. Max is introduced as teenage genetically enhanced
human prototype. Max and her brothers and sisters escaped from the
laboratory. Now, nine years later, Max is laying low and trying to live a
normal life. She is designed to be the perfect soldier. She is forever
marked as one of the escaped kids by the barcode on the back of her neck.
She is introduced to Logan who says he will try to help find the
others like her. Max is trying to hide from the government and her
enemy, Lydecker who is trying to find her and possibly kill her. Logan
tries to pursuade Max to use her powers and strengths to help others in
trouble. Logan tells Max about Zach who is still alive out there
somewhere.

Hanna, the lady who helped her escape the labs nine years ago. Hanna gives
Max information about what Max's mother was like. Max saves Hanna and
herself from Lydecker who goes to the island searching for the two.

In this episode, we
find out why Max has the seizures she does. Her brain is supposed to
produce serotonin but does not, so her pills help control the seizures.
When Max's friend's mistaken Max's dependency on the pills as a drug
addiction, they flush her pills down the toilet to help her overcome her
addiction. Sick now, Max breaks into a hospital (pharmacy?) to steal a
bottle of the pills but is caught. Then she is taken to jail where she
tries to escape but is caught again. She is then taken to the
warden's house. Her friends eventually find out that Max will die without
the pills and go looking for her. One of Max's past allies turns on her
and tells Lydecker where Max is. So Lydecker goes searching for her. Max's
friends find Max first and give her some pills just in the nick of time.
Max escapes before Lydecker can find her, and she saves a young girl from
the warden who was abusing her.
